VirtualBox 4.2.8 released

VirtualBox 4.2.8VirtualBox 4.2.8 was announced as a maintenance release that addresses several bugs. Since I’ve recently moved to 4.2 from 4.1, I decided to perform this minor update as well (I usually don’t unless there’s some important bug fix that I want implemented).

For those that don’t have Virtual Box installed here’s how you do it on Fedora 18 (for RHEL/CentOS use this repo instead, you can get the full list of supported OS’s here):

sudo yum install kernel-devel-`uname -r` dkms
cd /etc/yum.repos.d
sudo wget
sudo yum install VirtualBox-4.2

The above will configure the repository and install the latest version of Virtual Box 4.2. In addition to that you also need the extension pack which adds additional features such as USB 2.0 support. To install the pack grab it from here and open it with VirtualBox (the pack is released under a different license and that’s why it’s not included with the main package).
